Hosting projects is one of the main returning issues in technical support for activist groups. Of course, hosting should be affordable and reliable. Preferably within the our own circles. But how can we realize that?
The idea is to share and work up the build-up experiences and ideas on what the best solution to this problem is, but also to look at what we exactly want and how. from what to provide to how to implement it.
There have been already quite a bit of projects to learn from, some new, some old, some good, some bad.
some of these would be:
- squat.net
- puscii.nl
- riseup.net
- antenna?
- and certainly some others aswell.
Let's share our experiences on this and see how we can do better in the future.
Sugestions for things to discuss/talk about:
- map existing projects
- look at what the current problems are
- look at how others have solved certain problems
